The Covid-19 Pandemic advice is constantly changing.
Therefore we will update this page on a regular basis.
Please check in here again before your stay with us.
Last update 3/8/20
We understand that everyone also has their own subjective opinion about the virus. But we have to take the risk very seriously. Accommodation establishments remain a high risk environment simply because we welcome customers from a wide variety of places.
The data on coronavirus infections in our region and our population do not accurately represent the level of risk of B&Bs and hotels.
The slightest relaxation of our protocols on your part or on our part could lead to the closure of our business, the cancellation of vacation plans for our future customers and of course, our health. This is a scenario that we will do everything we can to avoid.
Bookings for 2020
All new bookings made for the rest of the 2020 season will be fully cancellable without charge up to 7 days before your stay with us. This flexibility allows both our guests and ourselves to be adaptable should the situation change in any way.
Any bookings made now and going forward will remain fully flexible on both sides to cancellation as above, and any booking you make is entirely at your own risk in this respect. In addition if we are closed by the U.K., Welsh or Local Government again in the future due to Covid-19, your booking will not be chargeable.
Regarding bookings for 2021, we will be reverting back to our regular cancellation conditions at some point. However if you are booked for next year under the current booking terms, we will contact you to notify you of the change at that time, and to see if you are happy to keep your booking with us.
Advance Check In
We will be reaching out to guests prior to their arrival to discuss the following:
- Room keys
- Local area information, things to do, places to eat, etc
- Your virtual Guest Information Folder
- Any questions you may have
We have installed an automatic touch-free hand sanitiser dispenser in the hallway so that guests can sanitise their hands on entering Ramsey House, and also before entering the breakfast room and lounge.
Guests will be required to maintain social distancing, and to keep at least 2 metres away from those who aren’t in their booking party. Wales remains at 2 metres for social distancing and is different from other areas of the U.K. Ramsey House is a house and also our home, and space will need to be respected and considered by all guests.
Local Area and Community
St Davids has been largely untouched so far by the virus, and many people in the community will be cautious at the prospect of visitors returning. When you’re out and about we would kindly ask you to follow the usual rules of social distancing, hand-washing regularly or using sanitiser, and respect other people in the area. But we are a friendly bunch in St Davids, and a smile or hello from across the road is always welcomed!
We will be serving breakfast to a maximum of three tables to allow for adequate space in between guests for social distancing. We have individual room tables – not a communal single table at breakfast.
Our breakfast menu will be provided through a virtual Guest Information folder which will be sent to you prior to your stay, for hygiene reasons.
We will be requesting you kindly place a pre-order each night before, in order to reduce wastage and enable a smooth service. This is a temporary measure until further notice. Although we are pausing our self service buffet until further notice, all of these items will still be here to order.
If you would prefer to have breakfast in your room we can provide a continental breakfast tray – please ask for this option.
Our regular daily in-room housekeeping service is temporarily suspended to avoid close contact, but we have in place facilities to ensure our guests have access to fresh towels, extra tea tray items, toiletries etc.
Decorative bed cushions will be removed from our beds during the health crisis. Each bed will always offer freshly and hygienically cleaned linen. But if guests prefer to bring their own pillows, we won’t be offended!
We will be operating on reduced availability until further notice to enable us to rotate rooms in between bookings, and reduce the number of different groups of people in the house. This also means we can allow 24 hours to be left between individual stays, so you will never arrive on the same day another guest has left your room.
Guests who have been diagnosed with, show symptoms, or who have been in contact with someone showing signs of Covid-19 in the last 14 days will be asked to kindly reschedule their stay. Anyone who shows symptoms during their stay will be asked to leave, for the safety of other guests and ourselves.
Guests who bring their own face masks or coverings are helping protect us and other guests. Unfortunately we can’t provide face masks for all of our guests! We are encouraging all guests to wear face coverings in public corridors, when you may pass other guests closer than the recommended social distance spacing (2m).
As St Davids Pharmacy is small and community based, we would request you check and make sure you have all your medications, sun creams and other toiletry items with you when you arrive to avoid putting stress on this service. Thank you.
Enhanced Cleaning Schedule
A thorough and deep clean following industry guidelines will be carried out after a guest has checked out. The room will not be let the same day as the previous guest has left.
In addition to our already high standards of hygiene, we will be cleaning more frequently in high traffic areas and touch points, such as the reception area, staircase, door handles, etc.
Any outstanding balances can be taken automatically during your stay, using the card you provided on booking. Guests can provide an alternative card during the telephone check in if needed.
On departure, guests will be asked to leave their keys in the room when checking out.
You can always reach us both before and during your stay. We want you to feel comfortable staying with us, and despite these safety measures our trademark warm welcome is still here. If you need anything please let us know. You can reach us at any time on WhatsApp. Just scan the QR Code below to chat to us directly, or add 0044-7795-575005 to your WhatsApp. Text will also work if you don’t have WhatsApp but the signal is slow here and we may not receive it straight away!
